I have been on a cleaning mission and trying to get more organized in the process. (we are kinda bad about doing things in a timely manner around here sometimes) It has been going pretty well - the kitchen got cleaned and some of the cabinets straightened out. I got the holiday cups and glasses out! All I had left to do was the bathrooms. Yeah!
Yep, things were going pretty smooth till I fell off the porch today. I have a flag pole on the porch and it’s fun to change out the flags with the season. It’s one of those cheap thrills that makes us happy in life, lol. And it wouldn’t look right in cold weather to have a summer flag, so I decided it needed to be changed - today.
In order to hang the flag though, you have to kind of lean over and undo the screw on the backside. (I am sure the hubby installed it wrong all those years ago, it certainly could not be my fault the holder is on wrong - but I digress, lol)
So there I am leaning over and my foot slipped - no place to grab. On the way down my hip hit the handrail and knocked it over, my other foot hit a pile of concrete blocks. (the concrete blocks that had been holding the tarp down on the roof. They should have been put back a week ago when the roof got fixed, but that’s another story, lol)
So there I sat, all splayed out with both legs hurting. The funny thing was that I didn’t drop the screw driver. Luckily my oldest son heard me call out and helped me up the steps. (which was no small feat cuz he wanted me to do it his way and I wanted to do it my way, lol)
I’m pretty sure I didn’t break anything. It’s hard to walk though and getting up and down out of the chair REALLY hurts. Thank goodness the hubby will be off for 3 days starting tomorrow.
I guess I will be cooking Turkey Day dinner from my roll around computer chair. The good news is that my boys can clean the bathroom (hehe - big grin) and maybe I will get a new handrail sometime this millennium.
Oh, the holiday flag did get put up. My son did it for me. It looks real nice, lol.
