Funny Memories of Christmas with Grandma
Grandma decided she wanted to go Christmas shopping for me and some friends of mine volunteered to take her. So we got her all dolled up in her Christmas sweater and she was so excited to go.
She knew exactly what she wanted to get me - it was something I needed and apparently had commented on. Grandma wanted to go to Walmart because she knew they would have just what she was looking for.
She has my 2 friends push her wheel chair over to the lingerie dept. Both of them were thinking she was going to buy me a gown or robe or something like that.
And what does Grandma do right in the big middle of Walmart? She pulls a pair of my worst panties out of her purse (holes and all), holds them up for the world to see and loudly asks, “do you think we can find a pair like this to fit her?”
Unbeknownst to anyone she had sneaked into my room and gotten a pair of my underwear out of the drawer and hid them in her purse. It seems I had mentioned I needed to get some new undies, lol.
Thankfully my friends have a good sense of humor. The new panties were found and wrapped in a beautiful package. Come Christmas morning Grandma so proud of her purchase. She had gotten me something I both needed and wanted.
My friends kept the secret of the incident at Walmart until after Christmas, and didn’t tell me about it till the next day over coffee. We all just about split our sides laughing so hard.
That was life with Grandma. She was a character through and through. So when I think of our last Christmas together, it is fun and funny and so typical of her amazing spirit and zest for life.
